Rework Given Work

For my next project, I created a GarageBand/Logic Pro X Project that ONLY uses the ’12 String Dream 09′ loop as the sole content of the work.

You could only:

  • copy and paste as many times as you like
  • edit any pasted copy via the Region tab of the editor (Time Quantize & Transpose)
  • add as many tracks as you’d like (software instrument) in which you paste the content – consider drums!
  • Use any automation features including volume, tempo, panning, echo, reverb, etc.
  • Use any appropriate smart controls
  • you may lengthen, shorten, and/or loop

You could NOT:

  • move individual notes
  • delete individual notes

My Piece:

What I Did:

  • I used panning on four of the tracks
  • On the “Male Chamber Choir” I made the volume slant (the best way I could describe) so that only a couple of chords were playing
  • Reversed Position
  • Random Velocity
  • Half Speed the Massive Waves and also at the end of Prog Rock Bass and Analog Circuits
